Spring was such a blur...between work, grad school, traveling, birthdays, finals, Sunday school teaching, and moving, it was hard to keep my little head above water. There was one six-week span where I was out of town for all but one of those weekends. I love to travel as much as the next lady, but by the end of that stretch I actually canceled a trip to New York at the last minute because I knew I couldn't/shouldn't spend one more weekend away, for my poor body's sake.
One of those weekends started as a business trip to Miami, but then extended into a weekend getaway with Jordan, who flew down to meet me after my board meeting. I actually used to live in Miami during middle school, so I always love visiting the place my family once called home. Jordan had never been to Miami before--finally, somewhere I've been that he hasn't! On one of our afternoons in town, we visited the Design District to see the Wynwood Walls, a section of the district where all the buildings are covered in brilliantly painted murals.
^ Can you spot the husband?
While not a mural, the flower wall below was clearly my favorite.
And just a few other quick shots from roaming around the city...
^ The view from my board meeting.
^ A glimpse of our old house in Coral Gables! Although when we lived there, we did NOT have those heinous gargoyle angel things...
^ The best little ice cream shop, still good after almost 15 years away...
^ Versailles has THE best Cuban food.
We also indulged in some much-needed R&R at our hotel (which I highly recommend: the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa), with plenty of breakfast in bed and a lot of pool time.
