Mosel Valley Castles.

Just a few photos from a recent road trip through Germany's Mosel Valley, where we visited the Cochem and Eltz castles. Stately and imposing from its perch above the Mosel River, the 19th century Cochem castle is surrounded by beautiful vineyards. Meanwhile Eltz, less than an hour away, is tucked away in a dense forest, unscathed by war and time (and still decorated with the same furniture from the past eight centuries). Eltz is owned (and periodically inhabited) by the original family, which has likely contributed to its careful preservation.
